History of the Church
SUCCESS GATE C&S CHRIST's CHURCH INTL.
Dr. Ade Ademisokun Turton, the Primate and Founder of the church organization was born a Nazarite to a Catholic family. He grew up to become a member of the Cherubim and Seraphim church. Called by God, God revealed to him that Cherubim and Seraphim (C & S) churches are loved but they have allowed themselves to be carried away by earthly things, thereby perverting the rules of God. The Primate was therefore called to revolutionize the C & S Churches so that they would not be grouped among herbalists, occultists and the likes. God revealed further that the church should not be in a hurry, as other Churches of the C & S will eventually come under its umbrella while the Holy Bible should remain the supreme law of the Church.
Signs of his call manifested in so many ways with a lot of prophetic utterances received from many great men of God. He had a great vision in the month of August 1981. In this vision, the Lord Jesus kissed him on the mouth in the midst of a very great heavenly host, the Lord then told him the great purpose of his call – to revolutionise and repair the ailing spiritual church (Cherubim and Seraphim Church).
His call gave birth to Success Gate Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Christ’s Church International on the 11th of November 1984 at No. 1, Honeymoon Junction, Off Ondo Road, Akure with twenty-nine (29) people, including the Primate, in attendance at the maiden service.
At some stages as the church grew, many forces from other white garment churches started waging war against the church but God has been faithful in sustaining the church. In July 1988, there was land dispute with some antagonists of the church who worked against the church with other forces within the church. They got an injunction from the Appeal Court restraining the church from worshipping on the land. For eight months the church was worshipping in the rented 3-bedroom apartment of Dr. Ade Ademisokun Turton. The case later went to the Supreme Court where we were vindicated, on March 4 1989. The victory on this day gave birth to “Return to Canaan” - the tag for the church’s annual convention. Their agenda was to extinguish the church and shame the gospel but the gospel can never be shamed because Jesus Christ Himself established the church. Since then the church has grown from strength to strength
Ibode Aseyori as of today has 19 Parishes and fellowship centres in Nigeria and one Parish each in Johannesburg in South-Africa, London, USA and Berlin in Germany.
Some of God’s revelations are coming true now as Success Gate (Ibode Aseyori) Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Christ’s Church International is being recognized all over the world. Some Cherubim and Seraphim (C & S) Churches have applied to come under the umbrella of the organization but God has not approved. The church is reaching out to different parts of Nigeria and overseas on a daily basis.
ONIBODE is the official title of the Primate of the organization. This replaced the conventional Baba Aladura.
